Martial Arts - What Are You Looking For?

By Julianna Hartmann

You can tell by watching for about a minute that some martial arts are primarily for the young at heart, and more importantly for the young, strong, tough and flexible of body. These are the sport arts that, while beautiful and lots of fun, tend to attract mostly children and young people under about age 25. If a holistic path is taken, sport arts can be practiced into senior years, as evidenced by Jhoon Rhee and others of his ilk, who in their 60s and 70s can still do 100 push ups in under a minute. In the sport arts, he and his cronies are the exception to the rule.

When choosing a martial arts style or school, think about what you want for your life (or for your children). If you want a sport karate or tae kwon do school that focuses on tournament competition, be sure to ask questions that get you the answers you need before enrolling in a program. If external strength/muscles and winning trophies are primarily what you are looking for, this may be your best choice.

If tournaments and sparring competition are not your thing, you may wish to find a holistic "jutsu", or combat art school. The best of these schools combine traditional form and technique with progressive integration of new ideas. The ancient masters were very strong and limber, physically speaking, but also practiced internal exercises and a gradual form of strengthening and toughening that spared the joints, toned muscles and internal organs, and allowed the practitioner to engage in amazing physical, mental and spiritual endeavors throughout his/her lifetime.

People of all levels of physical fitness and ability can benefit from the practice of a balanced kung fu style. You don't have to be Jet Li to practice martial arts. If you are like most people, the style you choose should help you feel successful enough that you will not get frustrated and quit, but should challenge you enough to keep your interest. Some people want that challenge primarily in the area of fitness, so that a good workout is enough for them. Some prefer mental stimulation - a complex art that keeps the intellect piqued - along with physical development.

For many, fun is important. Some styles are more structured in their presentation, and the school's culture is more similar to the military than to an activity simply for recreation. Other schools of thought are more laid back. This is not to say you can't have fun in the more structured classes - many do! It's a matter of finding where you are comfortable. For instance, Tae Kwon Do started as an art taught to large units of soldiers and more often than not modern TKD schools tend to be very structured. Taoist Kung Fu and Tai Chi, on the other hand, tend to be more relaxed, Taoism being viewed by many as the path of "Whatever." Mixed Martial Arts and Jeet Kune Do often do not even ask students to wear a uniform, and katas (prescribed set of movements), so much a part of karate and TKD schools, are seldom seen in MMA or JKD. However the personality of the teacher is often the deciding factor. Your best bet is to visit any school you think might interest you to find your niche. All arts have merit, so find a place you can be comfortable learning and that will push you just enough.

Fighting arts at their root are thousands of years in the making, and modern schools are offshoots of these ancient traditions. Find the branch of this marvelous tree that best suits what you want, and then pour your heart and soul into its practice. You will find rewards beyond what you can imagine. Stay the course, earn your black belt, and see what rich traditions of study lie beyond. Years down the road you will look back, and you will not recognize yourself. You will be doing things you thought were impossible. And when you examine yourself and your life many years from now, you will still have the heart and soul of a martial artist, and you will like what you see.

The Best Ab Exercises You Aren't Doing

By Colin Reay

What do you think of when you think about doing an ab workout? It is crunches isn't it? Crunches serve as the main exercise for all abdominal workouts. And that is a good thing. Because it is the most effective exercise that targets your abs. But not only could you be doing it wrong, you could be missing out on the many variations that could keep you from pushing past plateaus or missing the muscle gains and the fat loss you have been hoping for.

So what are they? First, are you sure you are using your abs?

Most people doing crunches are actually using their hip flexors. When you pull your body up to your knees, it tends to use those hip flexors instead of your ab muscles because your abs aren't strong enough. You can quickly fix this by going slower, doing less, and put your hands on your stomach. Putting your hands there will make you think about it and will let them know to be worked. Also, by going slower and doing less, you will set up the foundation for better gains later. Because going too fast will only cause injury.

But you want more variations? Here we go.

One of the biggest mistakes are missing your lower abdominal. When you don't know how, it is easy to miss them and lose most of your ability to lose fat and gain muscle in your core. So instead of doing the typical crunches the normal way, secure your upper body by grabbing a secure object with your hands and lift your feet into the air instead of your upper body. Make sure to bend at the hips, and really think about your stomach by sucking in your belly button towards your spine.

If you aren't using a stability ball for ab workouts, you should be. This is the number one piece of equipment that can quickly help anyone out by forcing your body to balance while working out.

For more information about the best ab exercises and all the different variations of crunches, as well as exercises such as the bicycle, the captains chair, the v-crunches, and more, check outhttp://www.abmusclessecrets.com/best-ab-exercises/ and check out even more on my sitehttp://www.abmusclessecrets.com/

Personal Development - How to Be Creative

By Stephen Kavita

The route to becoming creative is not easy and that is why most people shy away and would rather leave things as they are. But it is good to realize that people that have impacted the world positively are those who have gone against the norm to defy all odds and change things. The human brain has been designed to be imaginative especially when pushed to a corner. Therefore, when things seem tough rather than running away, seek to find a solution.

There are things you can do to enable your mind become creative and the first is overcome the fear of failure. As much as it is easier to sit back and do what you are supposed to do, risk and think outside the box. Do not worry what others will say or how you will persuade others. With time when they see things working out they will be convinced.

Even when everything seems to be going on well, always seek to be creative. This is because when things start going bad there is usually not enough time to come up with a solution. By thinking ahead you will activate your brains towards creativity.

Since one cannot be sure of the results of being innovative, some people are afraid of being creative. Realize that most of the time the new ideas we come up with are not normally logical hence evaluate your ideas rather than ignore them. Even when people consider your creative ideas erroneous to not give up on them until you try them out.

Creativity is the route to personal growth and hence self development. Strive to activate your mind's creative side and with time you will achieve self improvement.

Humor and Relaxation to Survive the Holiday Season and Beyond

By Will Black

We all know that the Christmas Season is supposed to be SO awesome. Right? If that's really true, why is it so hard to stay sane? One thing is for sure, I can't solve the great mysteries of life here, but I can show you how to get into the new year with your happiness and humanity intact.

Christmas Shopping, long lines, screaming kids, and fighting for parking spots that really aren't that good in the first place, are some of the not so fine things about Christmas. All of these things on their own really aren't that bad, but when they are all stacked upon each other, they can become overwhelming. First of all there is still hope... its almost over. You can do it, we are almost to January. Until we get to January though, I'd like to show you how to manage your cortisol levels.

Cortisol is the hormone in your body that is released when you come under any kind of stressors. This stress hormone tells your body "Get ready body hard times are coming". When it is first released by your body you will react quicker, fight off colds easier, and help your body maintain good blood pressure. Even though cortisol can be a good thing, too much of a good thing is still a bad thing. Once a high level of cortisol has been circulating in your body for a while, the exact opposite of what it originally did will happen: you will brain will slow down, you'll get colds easier, and in general you will feel exhausted.

Even though cortisol can take a tole on your system, like I mentioned earlier, there are things you can do to minimize the amount in your body. Try the following:

Find something to laugh about: Laughing has incredible effects on your body, and I don't have to tell you, but it feels good too! My favorite way to find things to laugh about is watch funny videos.

When we laugh at something funny, it lowers out cortisol levels by 39%

Switch from Coffee to Black Tea: I know this is near blasphemy but this is actually really good for your system. Black tea that has been steeped in hot water has about 100mg which is roughly the same amount as drip coffee.

Not only does switching from coffee to black tea lower your cortisol levels by 47% but black tea is also linked to reduced chances of developing heart problems.

Listen to relaxing music: I saved the best for last. Music for centuries has been a core part of civilization. It has moved entire nations to laugh, cry, and shout for joy. Its funny how American Idol has done so well for so long, but its because music has a power over us. Heavy metal makes most people feel aggressive, and gentler music like classical, Jack Johnson, or Enya (sorry guys, but after listening to her and after wanting to kill yourself, you will feel more relaxed.

Listening to calming music lowers cortisol by 66%.

At least two of the things here sound like common sense, but if you are intentional about doing these things the quality of your Christmas season will improve; so will the lives of the people around you. So, watch some funny videos, make some black tea, and listen to Jack Johnson on Pandora.

Will Black is a soldier turned family man just trying to enjoy life by making a difference in others lives. After seeing war and the ugliness that humans are capable of, the only life I can see that is worth living is one that aims to help others find true happiness. If you are interested in what I do, check outhttp://www.allthebestofthenet.com you will leave laughing.

Inspirational Story - How Sylvester Stallone Made It

By Dominic Tay

If asked, many people will remember Slyvester Stallone through his famous movie sequel, Rocky, which was nominated for 10 Academy Awards including Best Actor for Stallone himself. Undoubtedly, he is one of the most popular and highly paid stars in the history of Hollywood. Was he just born a natural talented actor? Let's find out...

Born into a poor family in New York, his family was so poor his mother had to give birth to him on the doorsteps of a school. What's worst? An accident during birth severed a facial nerve, leaving parts of his lip, tongue and chin paralyzed. As a result, he has to live with slurred speech and a drooping lower lip.

Despite his limitations, Stallone had the aspirations of being an actor. But unlike most young adults, Stallone's dream to be an actor was not just a mere want, wish or hope. He knew what he wanted - to be a movie star - and he was determined.

Stallone auditioned frequently but because of his droopy appearance, he was turned down most of the time. Occasionally, he would find stage work but it never got him close to his goal. Eventually, he resorted to appearing in a soft core porn film, Party at Kitty's and Studs, which was later repackaged as The Italian Stallion after he became famous. And know what? He was paid only US$200 for his two days work.

For most people, they would have given up long ago. But not for Stallone. He had a strong perseverance and he wouldn't stop until he achieves his dreams.

At the worst part in his life, he was so broke he was forced to sell his dog for $50 in order to survive. It was then that he watched the 'Ali-Chuck Wepner' fight involving Muhammad Ali and Chuck Wepner. At that time, everyone thought that Chuck would have fallen by the third round. What amazed and inspired Stallone was that Chuck miraculously lasted a total of 15 rounds with Ali!

Suddenly, Stallone had an idea. Using the idea of the 'underdog', he wrote a movie script profusely for the next 3 days. That was the birth of his Rocky script.

By then, did Stallone reach his dream of being a movie star? Of course not! He went around selling his script but again, he was rejected from time to time. Did he give up? No, not Stallone.

He kept going, company after company, until one company offered to pay him US$75,000 for his script and the rights to make the movie. Did he pick up the offer?

What made Stallone different from the other people was that he knew what he wanted exactly. He wanted to be a movie star, not a writer and he refused to sell the script no matter how much the company offered him, unless he is cast as the lead actor in the film.

The company did all they could to convince Stallone to sell, but on one condition - that he would not cast in it. After all, how can Stallone be a good actor given his appearance? Or so they thought...

But Stallone stood his ground. Reluctantly, the company gave in to his determination on the condition that the movie be made on a budget of less than a million dollars, that Stallone would only be paid US$35,000 for the script and that he would get a cut in the profits only if the movie made money.

When Rocky was screened in the cinemas, it was a smash hit! It grossed over US$171 million and the film was awarded with the 1976 Academy Award for Best Picture. Unexpectedly, Stallone even won the Award for the Best Actor! Instantly, Stallone's fame skyrocketed.

Finally, he achieved his dream to be a movie star. After all the hard work and effort that he has put in, it is all worth it.

Now, if Stallone can achieve his dreams, so can you. Here's an inspiration quote from Rocky the movie. Hope you like it:

"...it really don't matter if I lose this fight. It really don't matter if this guy opens my head, either. 'Cause all I wanna do is go the distance...if I can go that distance, you see, and that bell rings and I'm still standin', I'm gonna know for the first time in my life, see, that I weren't just another bum from the neighborhood."

An Incredible Motivational Story - Commitment Counts Big

By Paul Parkin

As a society we have looked up to successful people and those individuals who have overcome extraordinary feats of courage and determination. We all have our favourite stories and legends, but hearing others examples of how they overcame adversity is a great way to stimulate and to motivate ourselves into achieving our own goals.

We have all heard real life stories of ordinary people achieving extraordinary tasks, in fact it is often the task that makes otherwise ordinary people into legends. I would like to share with you one such story, I hope you find inspiration from it too.

Florence Nightingale - Nurse.

Was born to wealthy English parents in 1820, she was educated at home by her father and had a strict upbringing. Florence rejected marriage because she felt she would become entrapped by domestic responsibilities. She always felt she had a calling to serve, and in a time when respectable young ladies were expected to marry well, she refused and was not supported by her parents, who felt such a profession was beneath their status.

In 1853 the Crimera war broke out, it was a bloody war for both sides. This war received extensive press reporting and the stories from the battles shocked a whole nation, it was then that the legendary status of Florence Nightingale began. Florence went to the Crimera in 1855 and was asked to organise a group of nurses, initially cleaning the hospital though this would change when the hospital became overwhelmed by the number of casualties.

Florence soon blended her unique passion for cleanliness with her compassion for the injured and dying. Stories reached the English press of how comforting she was to the injured soldiers and her name became synonymous with caring. Florence Nightingale returned to England after the war and opened a school for Nursing at St Thomas's hospital London.

Florence Nightingale is not famous because she became a Nurse, she became famous because she thought outside of the box, did something she was not supposed to do, disobeyed her parents and followed her dream to help people and make a difference. It is easy to follow a path that is already marked out, but making a new path takes courage and determination, how easily she could have failed to achieve her goal, thankfully she succeeded, she has a place in history because she was motivated and determined.

Motivation and Determination are not Human Givens, they need to be learned.

How to Become Successful - Control + Belief + Action = Success

By Jamin Thompson

These days, everyone wants more control. Control over their finances, goals, career, kids, lifestyle, etc. But despite this natural desire for greater control, most people ironically toss away all possibilities for more control once they say or think things like:

  • It is the economy
  • I don't have time
  • I'm too tired
  • It is the way I was raised
  • It is my bosses fault
  • It is too hard
  • I'm not smart enough
  • I don't have enough money
  • I don't deserve it
  • It is going to be risky

You get the idea. You might not like to hear this but the truth is that wherever you are in life is exactly where you really choose to be. And you will continue to be exactly where you are as long as you continue to waste time making excuses and saying "it's the". Every time you say the words "it's the", you've already failed.

Life may be hard at times, but whoever said success was easy? Billions of people have experienced mind-blowing success over the course of history, but yet the question remains: Why are some people super successful and others complete failures? Why do some people reach their goals and others make the same previously failed resolution year after year? Most people spend their entire lives wondering, "what is the miracle formula for success?" They seldom realize that the choice was given to them at birth.

For every tragedy, handicap, and difficulty there are two stories. Each person, by his or her actions, chooses which story will be theirs.

Succeed or fail, your choice.

Case in point.

I used to work with two athletes who had similar talents and were both loaded with potential. They were about as equally matched as they come. A coach's dream.

One guy, Ryan, was tremendously talented, but had struggled to stay in the elite group of players in the country. He developed little, if at all, and every training session was a grind for him.

The other guy, Luke, was quickly developing into an elite athlete. He also had tons of talent, and was one of the most sought after high school recruits in the country.

During the training sessions with Ryan, I would constantly hear long dissertations about all of the factors that were negatively affecting his development. Just about every imaginable outside influence bothered this guy. He had to stay up late doing homework so he was too exhausted to train as hard he should, he was mad at his girlfriend, he had a nagging injury, the competition in his division was too good, and so on and so on. Every session he would complain about the same crap. It was like a broken record of misery.

I will admit though, that the stuff Ryan used to whine about affects every athlete. I used to deal with those same issues when I was playing, but the difference between an elite athlete and a "pretty good" athlete is how much control you let these factors have over you.

If you consistently make excuses and say "it's the" all of the time you do briefly make yourself feel better, but the downside to that is you lose control. When you make excuses you put off responsibility, and without responsibility you have no control. Being a winner means having a winning attitude; and winners take responsibility for everything that they can control.

Whenever you reject responsibility, you give up control. An ounce of control is worth an ounce of responsibility.

On the flip side, my training sessions with Luke were very productive and he rarely brought up factors that were negatively affecting him. Instead he would brainstorm with me and talk about unique methods he was using to keep his focus sharp, his energy levels up, and his goals on track. He was determined to keep developing as an athlete and not let external influences derail his plans. He would ask me what strategies I used to use and how they might work for him. "How would this or that pro athlete deal wit this x-problem?" - he would ask. Or he would say stuff like "I really slacked off and lost focus in the gym last week. Here is how I can correct it."

Luke accepted all the responsibility for his wins, losses, success, failures, achievements, and errors, and in doing so remained in control of his destiny.

In all of my years of playing competitive sports and working towards a definitive goal, the most valuable thing I have learned is that we become what we think about most. We essentially make ourselves by the dominant thoughts that we choose and act upon; and literally become what we think. It has been said that act is the blossom of thought, and joy and suffering are its fruits.

So what do you think about? What is your ultimate goal? Do you have it written down? Perhaps you have more than one? Write all of your goals (short term and long term) down on paper, and then ask yourself this question: Am I pleased with my present place in the world? If your answer is yes, what's your next move? If your answer is no, what are you going to do about it? You are today the sum total of your thoughts, up to this point in your life.

Our thoughts control our destiny, and we can control what we think about, so essentially we can decide our own fortunes. If you stop thinking, or think damaging thoughts, you won't become much of anything at all. Think positive, then take action, and life will reward you.

A Great Golf Swing - Simple But Not Easy

By Deane Alban

Many recreational golfers, even those with golf handicaps that are fairly low, don't understand the basics of a great golf swing. Before you can perfect your golf swing, you must be able to break down the simple golf swing into its elemental parts. Swinging the golf club perfectly is the dream of every golfer. Let's examine a few elements of a great swing.

First there is balance. Balance is critical to a great swing. It should be one of the first things you learn when you take beginner golf instruction. Balance throughout the swing starts with a good set-up that has the following elements:

- Head is behind the ball.
- Back shoulder is slightly lower than the front.
- Both shoulders are aligned parallel, left of target.
- Hands are positioned just inside the front leg.
- Knees are slightly flexed.
- Feet are at slightly wider than shoulder width.

That is a lot to think about. Expect to practice this often until you develop the "muscle memory" to have a good, natural golf swing.

A solid takeaway is another key to a great swing. Your arms should remain ahead of your chest. Your knees should be slightly flexed. Your front knee points towards the ball. Your hands and shoulders must be in sync. A good takeaway produces the next element of a great golf swing, a tight coil at the top of the swing.

Skilled golfers know that true power comes from the upper body coiling over the resistance of the lower body, and that depends on good footwork.

Professionals keep their left heel planted on the back swing and push off of their right heel on the downswing. (Reverse this if you are left-handed.) Many golfers lift their left heel on the backswing and keep the right heel planted at impact. This is the opposite of what you should be doing. Learn the proper footwork and you'll be hitting longer, more accurate shots.

The last element of a great and easy golf swing we'll cover is a solid impact. For a solid impact, your back shoulder should be slightly lower than the front. Your front shoulder, arm, and hip should create a straight line. Your hands in the same position they were at address. Your front wrist is flat and both hands are leading the club head into the ball. You've transferred weight from the right to the left foot.

To sum up a great golf swing, it's a turn backward then forward. The front knee acts as the hub of both the turns.

A great golf swing is simple but not easy. To develop a natural, easy golf swing takes understanding the elements of the swing and a lot of "perfect practice".

An Educated Failure

By Dave R Wilson

When launching a product it's important to get the offer right, it's actually more important than having the right list. What good does it do you if you have the "perfect client list" but an offer that is only oh-hum at best?

It's so easy to get wrapped up in ad copy, using just the right words at the right moment, or the headline that captures their attention. These are very important parts of the launch, but if the offer isn't right you will lose them, they won't buy your product or service. Getting the offer right makes writing the copy much easier, the offer is very much the core of your launch. Your prospect is looking at your copy going "yeah, but what do I get?"

I'm reminded of a well known race in the middle of the desert where there is no food or water until Support Services sets up a tent camp and have those items for sale. If you show up too early for the race you could be there without food or water, but if someone shows up with a steak sandwich and something icy cold to drink they could charge two or three times the regular price and you'd still be happy to pay it because the offer was right for the timing.

If you know what the hot points and objections are with your prospects then you will know what the offer should be. The offer can also be tweaked during a launch, in other words it is not set into stone and forget about it, I often times will include something additional during a product launch depending on the market.
Okay, here are their hot points, their wants, needs and desires, now it's time to build the offer.

So what's in the offer? It is the deliverables, what are they actually going to get, a membership, product, e-product, or service. Are there any bonuses, and what are the bonuses, you don't have to have them but I like to use bonuses. What is the guarantee, is it a refund, or based on performance, that's part of the offer. Pricing is a very important part of your offer, along with any time related motivation, something that might expire if they don't act quickly. So remember as you plan your launch and make preparations you might want to take a second look at your offer and make sure it is matched up with your product or service.

If you have a great product then possibly we can help create a launch that turns your seedling into a money tree that produces you a nice 6 or 7 figure payday. Perhaps you have a product that is doing okay but not making the kind of money you know is possible, or conceivably you have a new product that you are not sure what to do next.

You are not alone. When it comes to your company, you are an expert at what you do. However, you may not be such an expert at marketing your products or services. Our team of product launch experts can help build desire and anticipation for whatever you offer because our marketing is a process. 4 Mistakes to Avoid When Choosing a Guardian For Your Minor Children

By Nicole Kinsey White

If you have minor children, you should always name temporary (short-term) and permanent (long-term) guardians.

A temporary or short-term guardian is someone (or a couple) who will immediately be there for your children if anything happens to you. For example, if you are in a car accident, your temporary guardian will care for your children until you are able to do so. Your temporary guardian should be someone who lives nearby, within 20 minutes or so.

A permanent or long-term guardian is someone (or a couple) who will care for your children for the long term if you are unable to do so. For example, if you become permanently disabled or if you pass away, your temporary guardian will first step in to care for your minor children until the permanent guardian can take over.

Here are four mistakes to avoid when you choose temporary and permanent guardians for your minor children.

1. Naming only permanent guardians.

Usually parents name permanent guardians for their minor children in their Wills. While this is a good thing to do, it does not fully protect your children in the event you become temporarily disabled or incapacitated. Permanent guardians named in your Will only take effect if you pass away.

2. Choosing enough alternates.

You should always choose at least two alternates for your temporary and permanent guardians. You never know if a named guardian will be unavailable when needed. Having alternates will prevent any delays.

3. Choosing a couple.

If you are thinking about selecting a couple as guardian for your minor children, ask yourself if you really want to name the couple as guardian or just one member of the couple as guardian. For example, you name your sister and her husband "jointly or the survivor." This means that if anything happens to your sister, your brother-in-law, who you may not like, will be guardian of your children.

By using phrases such as "jointly or the survivor," "jointly only," or "alone" when naming a couple as guardian, you can clearly define exactly who you want acting as guardian for you minor children.

4. Not excluding individuals who you don't want as guardian.

If you are absolutely sure you do not want certain people acting as a guardian for your minor children, then formally exclude them in writing. It's simple to create a document naming individuals that you do not want to care for your minor children. Don't forget to get it notarized.

Help Your Construction Business by Asking Successful People For Advice

By Greg Vandenberge

You're probably not going to believe the story that I'm about to tell you, but it's what makes America great. You can come to this country, learn a trade within a short time and become a millionaire in less than five years.

I'm not going to tell you his name, because that's not what's important here. The fact that you can do what this man did is really what this story is all about. He wasn't the smartest person on earth and he didn't have a pleasant personality. He could barely speak English and he rented a room from one of his relatives.

Here's how he became a millionaire and you can do the same thing also. He advertised in the local newspaper and the fourth person that he worked for, was a multimillionaire. He was fascinated with the multimillionaire and asked him as many questions about how to acquire wealth as he could think of.

We can stop the story right there, the point of this article, is to actually ask other people, how they become successful. If you're working for someone who is a little more successful than you are, it wouldn't be a bad idea to start asking them for some advice.

The story that I told you, isn't entirely true, but I'm sure that it has happened to more than one person in America. The main point that I'm trying to drive home here, for contractors who are struggling is that you need to start asking other successful contractors about their success.

This is actually one of the methods I use on a regular basis. I have learned valuable information from homeowners that I was working for. One housewife and the mother of four children that I was working for, helped me solve a problem with the gas company.

I learned a little bit more about the power of persistence from this woman. It wasn't the last thing that I learned from her, because I chose to ask some excellent questions. If you really want to be a successful contractor, you need to start asking questions to successful people.

What do you have to lose, if you're not a success will as you want to be? Just do it and within a short period of time, you will start to see your attitude in life changing.

5 Good Reasons to Take a Home HIV Test

By Anne Hamilton

The home HIV test is a tool that you can use to detect the presence of the HIV virus in your body. AIDS (or Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome) is a condition in which the body loses its ability to fight infection. Caused by the HIV virus it is a condition that can stay dormant for many years before the symptoms of AIDS start to surface. In fact, it is estimated that there are some carriers of the HIV virus who never really experience the symptoms even as they pass on the virus to other people. An HIV blood test can help you in many ways and there are enough reasons for you to consider a home AIDS test.

1. Control the spread - There are more than 56,000 Americans who are infected with the HIV virus every year. This is mainly due to the large proportion of people who are not aware of the fact that they may be carrying the virus and passing it on to their partners. These cases tend to be discovered only when an unexpected HIV blood test is performed during blood donation camps or the like. A home HIV test can help you confirm whether you are HIV positive or not so that you can take the precautionary steps to avoid further spread.

2. Private and confidential - It may not be very comforting to know that everyone seems to know that you are getting HIV testing done. This becomes extremely obvious if you go to a laboratory or a center to get this test done. A home HIV test on the other hand can be done in the privacy of your home where no one really needs to know. Make sure, however, that you dispose the used test kit in the garbage appropriately, especially if you have nosy neighbors.

3. Easy and convenient - The home HIV test is very simple too. All you have to do is buy the AIDS test on the Internet and call in to find out the results in a few days after you have sent the blood sample to the laboratory with the unique blood sample id number.

4. Accuracy - The home HIV test is extremely accurate. The FDA has approved this test based on the correct recognition of submitted specimens. The specimen that is collected is sent to a laboratory that meets CLIA requirements. To get 99% accuracy all you must do is follow the directions.

5. Reassure yourself - A home HIV test is also a convenient way in which you can assure yourself that you are safe if you have a feeling that you have participated in unsafe sex. Rather than fret about whether something went wrong, you can choose to take the convenient home AIDS test to know that you are safe.

If you choose to take the home HIV test, you are essentially helping to keep your partner away from avoidable exposure.
